  1. Partial Payment Reversal

    There should be an option to post a Payment Reversal for a portion of the original payment. This is necessary when a customer has disputed their payment with the bank and merchant services processes a chargeback for only a portion of the original payment, instead of the whole amount.

    After careful consideration, this request was declined because UMS stores payment information with a single unique identifier and splitting a payment would require a complete overhaul of how UMS handles payments.

  3. Calculating Bills - Progress Bar

    After calculating bills and then exporting the statements, there is not progress bar to show you how much longer the exporting process will take. For our company, this can take around 40 minutes and having a progress bar on that screen would be helpful.

    The rendering of the export file is done outside of UMS.  This is accomplished by using whatever default PDF creator the user has on their PC so there is not a good way to track progress of exporting a PDF file directly through UMS.  

  4. assign service orders

    Allow the assignment of service orders in bulk. If we could select the routes and assign all orders on those routes to a single tech it would save time. If we have 100 cutoffs we would like to easily split the total by routes and assign techs. All the information is easily seen in the service order control panel but it does not allow you to assign here, without going into each order separately.

  5. Miscellaneous Statement for Specific Transaction Type

    Please allow for the mass creation of Miscellaneous Statements limited to a specific transaction type or code.

    For example, we add a Reconnect Fee after a customer has been disconnected and then service restored and that fee is due in the future. Currently, I have to run the Miscellaneous Statement process in each individual account to apply the Due Date so it does not potentially get captured in other processes that have a Due Date added.

    If I could filter by code, that would be much more efficient!

  6. Charge date in payment detail

    In the payment detail, show what charge date the payment is being applied to. In the detail below, $12 and $37 were applied, a field showing that they are for the 4/12 (or 3/10 or 2/12, whatever) charge would be great.

  8. Missing/Inactive Services

    Allow the missing service list to include inactive services, not just missing. We bill gas and I would like to run a report to find if any customers that did not get a fuel charge with the gas charge.

    We are declining this request. The Location Services Report limited to that inactive service or the Billing Exceptions report limited to that service with 'No Current Charges' should produce the desired results.

  9. Adding a next work order button

    Adding an advance forward or previous work order button to the edit service order page. When you click on a service order to view it, you might have considered a different work order; instead of going back to the main page, the back or forward arrow will allow seeing the subsequent service order. This will benefit the field crew or workers as well.

    This request has been declined because reports can already be limited to a specific 'bill group' which will allow reporting on a specific owner (as long as the bill group is established).  Any questions can be directed to our tech support staff. 

  11. Settings for which transactions get Automatically Posted

    We have a need to NOT POST all CSR transactions until days end. At present, processes such as the Move-In Wizard automatically post Miscellaneous Fee transactions and we do not want them posted. We have a checks and balance system that posts all transactions at the end of the day in the event that an error needs to be addressed. Our administration wants as few adjustments as possible, especially simple error adjustments that can be handled before posting.

    This work item is being declined. Changing this process would require a major overhaul of existing UMS processes and could have potential unintended effects relating to the application. Please note that miscellaneous fees, deposits, etc. can be entered separate from the Move-In Wizard, therefore enabling the ability to review the transactions prior to posting.

  12. Tax Exempt Certificate Management

    A business customer has a meter with usage and should not be incurring sales tax because they have a tax exemption certificate. These tax exemption certificates have an expiration date. Please add the ability for a customer account to have information regarding tax exemption: active or inactive and the expiration date. We need to send out reminders to those customers when their tax exemption is expiring so we can get their updated certificate. It is also an onboarding step for new business customers to ask for their certificate if they have one.

  13. Service Order assignment

    Need ability to enter field worker name in the "assigned to" field. The office workers do not do the work and they are all that are able to be filled in that field.

    Service Orders can already be assigned to any account deemed a 'Field Service Worker' or another UMS user with adequate permissions.  Please contact your Account Manager for Field Service Tech users, which are designed for this very reason and can even access the web based Mobile Service Order (MSO) platform from the field.

  14. Service order

    SERVICE ORDER - Previous (FINAL) customers name prints on service order. Needs to be blank in the name field unless a new customer has already been moved in before the service order is entered. We have instances where the service (water) is turned on for cleanup and then back off and no customer needs to be listed. We do not put landlords in each time someone moves out.

  17. Remove unwanted gateways from tools in UMS

    For companies with multiple communities/companies need the ability to remove unwanted gateways from their tools in CWP/Gateway Rec.
    Something such as an active box within the gateway set up.
    Unchecking the box , making the gateway inactive will then hide the company from appearing in tools such as gateway reconciliation.

  18. Revenue class

    Locations need the ability to change between revenue classes without impacting prior or future customers at that location. If a house (Residential) is bought & turned into a restaurant (Commercial), the change to Commercial makes all customers who have been there Commercial.

    This request would require a major overhaul of how the software currently operates. Due to this fact, in addition to the number of votes, we are declining this request. As a workaround, we would suggest creating a new location with the different revenue class instead of changing the revenue class. That way the historical information would remain accurate. Another option is tracking by rate code versus Revenue Class. Rate codes are historically tracked on all financial and consumption records.

  19. Add Meter Size Filter to Average Charge List Report

    Add Meter Size to the Code Filters to be able to filter ALL charges by meter size as opposed to grouping.

    Currently, the meter size grouping breaks out non-metered charges (garbage, etc.) from the metered charges under the category "none". This is good if you are evaluating ONLY water charges. However, if you want to easily obtain average charges for all services, for example to evaluate whether the current deposit amount is still sufficient, this report will not give you that.

  20. Delete Unbilled Usage

    FP 91139. When making a metered service inactive - add an option to delete the unbilled consumption for all services billing based upon the metered service. Example: When making water inactive they want to remove the sewer consumption also and only bill the base fee. Presently, we only remove the unbilled consumption for the service being made inactive and other services continue to bill the recorded consumption.
