Attach Statement as PDF for E-Bills
When we e-mail the bill from the customer History/Transaction tab, it attaches the statement in the e-mail as a PDF, but when we e-mail in mass (Active Company) from the Billing tab, it does not attach it as a PDF to the e-mail. Doesn't make sense that it works via the History/Transaction tab, but not in mass.
Several customers have complained about not being able to view their bill without creating an online account.
Thank you for submitting this enhancement request and for the thoughtful feedback from your customers.
After careful review, we have made the decision to decline the request to attach PDF bills to mass billing emails sent from the Billing tab (Active Company).
We understand this may feel inconsistent given that PDF attachments are supported when emailing from the History/Transaction tab, and we appreciate you bringing that to our attention. However, the two workflows serve different purposes — the History/Transaction tab is designed for individual, on-demand emails, while the mass billing process is optimized for high-volume delivery.
The decision to decline this enhancement is based on two primary factors:
1. Industry Standard: Best practice for mass billing communications is to include account balance and relevant account information within the email body itself, rather than attaching a copy of the bill as a PDF.
2. System Performance: Generating and attaching PDF documents across a high volume of outbound emails would significantly impact processing speed, introducing delays that would be disruptive to the billing workflow.
We recognize that some of your customers have expressed a preference for receiving their bill directly without needing to create an online account, and we encourage you to continue sharing that feedback as it helps inform future prioritization decisions.
Thank you again for taking the time to submit this request.
